Confrérie de la Charité, Amman, Jordan
Containerized Water Desalination Package; Capacity: 3 x 500
M3/day
Confrérie De La Charité, Amman, Jordan was in need
of a containerized reverse osmosis based water treatment plant with
a 21 M3/hr RO product flow.
The contract for the installation of the reverse osmosis plant
was awarded to UEM. The plant was designed for a RO product output
of 21 M3/Hr through a 3 x 3 brine staged array system.
To achieve the desired RO product flow, an automatic cleaning
strainer system along with multimedia filters was added to the
treatment system.
The plant was designed to be automated for the pre-treatment,
reverse osmosis system, and the chemical dosing units. Backwashing
of the filters was designed to be carried out manually.
The treatment scheme contains the following two main stages to
treat the raw water:
Stage I
The Pre treatment will have the following main steps:
- Filtration through the 100 micron strainers
- Filtration through Multi Media filters with Backwash
arrangement in Manual mode
Stage II
This system consists of the following steps in the scheme:
- Antiscalent dosing facilities to increase the solubility limit
of the concentrating ions
- Lowering the RO feed water pH/alkalinity through Acid
Dosing
- Removal of fine particles through 5 and 1 micron cartridge
filters respectively
- Pumping to RO System feed water through vertical multistage
centrifugal pump
- Removal of total dissolved solids through Osmosis system
- pH correction for adjusting / neutralize the product water
pH
- Storage of RO Product water Disinfecting the RO Product water
by chlorination
- Flushing of RO membranes through centrifugal pumps to remove
the accumulation of salts and physical impurities on the surface of
the membrane
- Chemical in-place system for cleaning the RO Membrane thus
increasing the life of the membranes
