
The Granville Water Treatment Plant treats water from aquifers. The project UEM was involved in included the refurbishment of various unit processes, including the replacement of all electro mechanical works. The civil structures were utilized and the rest of the plant was rehabilitated, including the plant controls, electrics and automation. The raw water is high in iron content (2.22-2.5 mg/l).
The Granville water Treatment Plant was commissioned in Nov. 1999 and since then has been operating to the satisfaction of WASA. Relay based hardware controls were provided for a semi-automatic operation of the plant.
