40 MGD Sewage Treatment Plant with Biogas/Power Generation

UEM was successful in securing a 40 MGD (182 MLD) Sewage Treatment Plant job on turnkey basis in a competitive bid situation from the Delhi Jal Board (earlier known as Municipal Corporation of Delhi : MCD), which is one of the largest corporations in India.

This 40 MGD STP incorporates Pumping Stations (2 Nos., 135 MLD & 12 MLD), Mechanical Screens, Grit Chambers, Primary Clarifiers (4 Nos., 42 M diameter), Aeration Tanks (total volume 56,000 M3, 4 Nos., each of 114 M x 33 M size), Secondary Clarifiers (4 Nos., 48 M diameter), Anaerobic Digesters for sludges with a Gas Mixing System (10 Nos., each of 4,100 M3 volume), Gas Holders with Floating Gas Domes, Sludge Drying Beds and all other ancillary structures, buildings, roads, pathways, storm water drains & yard lighting.

Duel Fired Gas Engines (3 Nos., each of 600 KVA, MANN Make) have also been supplied to generate 1 MW electricity from the biogas generated to meet a large portion of the electric power requirement of the STP.
