Municipal Sewage Treatment Plant
UEM has commissioned a 8 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant adopting an Activated Sludge Process for MHES Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia.
The basic scheme includes following process steps:
- Mechanical Screening followed by grit removal in grit chamber
- Conventional Activated Sludge Treatment comprising of Anoxic Tank, Aeration Tank, Secondary Clarifier, sludge thickening with sludge re-circulation & wasting pumps
- Excess sludge dewatering with Belt Filter Press
Some of the sizes of major structures are as given below:
- Anoxic Tank: 2 Nos. 14 M x 13 M x 5.5 SWD each
- Aeration Tank: 2 Nos. 39.5 M x 14 M x 5.5 SWD each
- Secondary Clarifier: 2 Nos.28.3M x 10M x 5.5 M SWD each
- Sludge Thickener: 1 No. 7.5 M Dia.
The plant was successfully commissioned in May, 1997.
