Municipal Sewage Treatment Plant

UEM has commissioned a 17.50 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant adopting an Activated Sludge Process for MHES Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia, which has been in operation for the past several years.

The basic scheme includes following process steps:

Raw Sewage Pumping Station
Mechanical Screening followed by grit removal in grit chamber
Conventional Activated Sludge Treatment comprising of Anoxic Tank, Aeration Tank, Secondary Clarifier, sludge thickening with sludge re-circulation & wasting pumps
Excess sludge dewatering with Belt Filter Press
PLC for monitoring of plant

The plant was successfully commissioned in May, 1996.
